Ridge Athletics is located in Flagstaff, AZ and was established in 2022. Ridge was created as a way to offer something different and new to the Flagstaff community and is very different from your standard physical therapy practice. I strive to create a sustainable model fit for athletes, which requires much more intention than traditional rehabilitation models. Every session is intentionally 1-on-1 with myself and there will never be bouncing around between clients. This is absolutely essential to make sure we both understand your goals, expectations, and your plan of care moving forward. Additionally, this allows for the proper focus and time to deliver a very high quality level of care to ensure you are getting the best results with every session.
Whether you are seeking physical therapy services because you have a current injury or performance training services because you want to optimize your current level of fitness and and reduce your risk of injury, we have the right programs for you. With either program, you will get detailed and specific feedback based on your current level of function. From there, we will work together to develop a plan of care that is specific to your needs and effectively implement our plan to reach your goal
Every person and every session may be different depending on your specific physical therapy or sports performance goals, but there are similarities in the underlying philosophy of a treatment or training program. At a foundational level, this involves education. You can expect to gain a thorough understanding of your specific injury, why injury occurs, what can be done to make it better and how to reduce the risk of re-injury in the future. Treatment approaches may differ, some may involve a component of manual therapy, but most will involve an active intervention approach structured around movement quality and adapting your body to the stressors of your specific activity. Whatever your activity and whatever your level of fitness, your time here with a physical therapist will equip you with the tools needed to get back to doing what you love.
Ridge Athletics is unique in that it operates out of two different Flagstaff locations (Beyond the Pines and New Roots Fitness Co. ). Beyond the Pines offers a private and modern consultation space, where all physical therapy and performance initial evaluations and consultations will be held, and New Roots offers everything we might need for all follow up and treatment sessions. Working with an established gym has been an intentional part of development, as rehab and performance naturally tend to lie on the same spectrum. The only thing thats different are the details, but the underlying principles are often similar. Working on rehabilitation and performance in a non-overly medicalized setting creates a lot more potential for anyone who steps through the door.
The site is equipped with anything you might need for performance and rehabilitation, including barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, pulley machines, warm up equipment, and much, much more.

Ridge Athletics is a completely cased based physical therapy practice. This means that we are out of network with all insurance companies. We do, however, provide you a detailed invoice with the correct ICD-10 diagnosis coding and CPT treatment coding. You can use this coded invoice individually to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company. Generally, many people have a high level of success submitting claims to their insurance company and it is likely you will get some form of reimbursement for you physical therapy session depending on your insurance.
Please reach out to your insurance company for further details on claims submission and the reimbursement process.
WHY?
There are many reasons Ridge Athletics is a completely cashed based physical therapy clinic:
1. It allows us to ability to offer full 1-on-1, hour long physical therapy sessions. Most clinics that operate exclusively with insurance companies are constantly under time and treatment constraints, which limits the physical therapist in performing their job to the highest quality.
2. Better results and improved performance. Because we can take the appropriate amount of time with a client, we are able to offer a very high level of care. This directly translates to improved recovery from injury and a reduced amount of time to get there.
3. We can offer services how we see fit. Many times, physical therapists are limited on the type, quantity, duration and frequency of visits due to insurance limitations. This means sometimes you cannot get the type of care you need because insurance companies are limiting what can be provided. At Ridge Athletics, we can offer custom treatment plans that deliver exactly what you need, when you need it.
4. Reduced overall amount of visits. Because we have the proper time allocated for EACH person, this lets us accomplish what we need with fewer visits overall. This is directly related to improved understanding and education during a session, improved communication with your physical therapist outside a session, and a more thorough rehab approach overall.
5. Heath care costs may be reduced overall. Between deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance and unexpected fees, most people pay a high amount for healthcare services. Depending on your insurance plan, the costs associated with a physical therapy visit may match or even be higher than a cash pay rate, especially if you have not met your deductible. This, paired with an overall greater amount of visits needed in the traditional physical therapy model, may leave you paying more for physical therapy at an insurance based clinic.
At Ridge Athletics, we take fewer visits to get you on the other side of injury AND we supply you with the proper coding for reimbursement from your insurance provider.
Hi! I am Kameron and I have lived in Flagstaff, Arizona since 2011 and graduated from Northern Arizona University with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2017. Since then, I have been engaged deeply in my professional development, acquiring my Orthopedic Clinical Specialty in 2020. Since working as an orthopedic physical therapist, I have worked extensively with the Flagstaff athletic population and have gained significant experience with both recreational and Olympic level athletes.
Apart from working with athletes, I am an endurance athlete myself. I am an avid runner and have participated in every running event from the road 1 mile to 100 mile ultrarunning trail races. In the winter, I take to the slopes for months of aggressive alpine skiing and uphill ski/ski mountaineering training and races. My dedication to the outdoors and endurance sports is what drew me to the physical therapy profession in the first place and the joy I get from helping others reach their goals and maximize their potential keeps me going.

Ridge Athletics is a completely cash based physical therapy practice. This means we are out of network with all insurance companies. This allows the opportunity for all services to be one on one care and to truly develop a tailored and specific plan to meet your needs without insurance requirements dictating the path forward. As a professional courtesy, a "superbill" is offered for clients to submit to their insurance company if requested.
A superbill is documentation the provides the insurance company with all the information needed (ICD-10 codes, CPT codes, etc.) to allow for potential reimbursement for their clients. After payment to Ridge Athletics, we can provide you with this documentation and you can individually submit to your insurance company.
Please check your insurance benefits to determine if this option is right for you.
